Heartland National TB Center is excited for the recent release of the Global Tuberculosis Dictionary that launched to the public on March 22, 2024. This new resource aims to unify TB vocabulary across the globe and provide a common language for researchers, policy makers, funders and affected communities. After identifying a need for a standardized glossary for the field of tuberculosis due to new discoveries and evolving concepts, researchers, public health officials, and TB survivors created the first edition of the Global Tuberculosis Dictionary. Multiple reviewers from many sources ensure that this resource is accurate and comprehensive. Heartland’s own Dr. Barbara Seaworth, MD, FIDSA, was involved in the initial development of terms included and provided input on definitions through the 18-month plus review process of consensus, and we are proud to highlight her contributions to this amazing project!
