TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is intended for physicians and nurse experts who are actively engaged in the management of patients with, or at risk of, multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR TB).

CONFERENCE GOAL

The goal of the conference is to enhance the expertise of providers to improve the prevention, treatment, and management of patients with MDR TB.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to: explain the definition of MDR TB; how it develops in the TB patient and adequate control measures; describe the laboratory’s role in the diagnosis of the MDR TB case; and discuss the management and treatment of MDR TB disease.

FORMAT

The format for this webcast will be a simulcast of presentations given at the Country Springs Hotel and Conference Center, 2810 Golf Road, Pewaukee, Wisconsin 53072.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Heartland National TB Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Heartland National TB Center will offer Nursing Continuing Education Credits for successful completion of this educational activity; sign in sheets (original to Heartland), completed evaluation, completion of certificate of successful completion.
