Slide 10. From 1996 to 1997, the total number of U.S. TB cases decreased by 7%. The number of cases decreased by 11.5% in non-Hispanic whites, 7% in non-Hispanic blacks, 6.7% in Hispanics, and 7% in American Indians/Alaskan Natives. The number increased by 0.5% in Asian/Pacific Islanders.
