Slide 5: Percentage of Counties with No Reported TB Cases, United States, 1962-1998. The percentage of U.S. counties that did not report any TB cases has been steadily increasing over the past several decades. In 1998, no TB cases were reported in 1,551 (49%) of the 3,142 U.S. counties; however, counties without any reported TB cases in 1998 only accounted for 11% of the total U.S. population.
