TB Case Rates, 1999

Slide 4: Map depicting TB Case Rates, 1999.
Slide 4: TB Case Rates, 1999. This map shows TB case rates for 1999. Seventeen states had a case rate at or below the year 2000 interim target of 3.5 TB cases per 100,000. This group of states has remained fairly constant over the last decade with a few exceptions. States with a case rate above the national average include the seven states that reported at least 500 cases in 1999: CA, TX, IL, GA, FL, NY, and NJ. These states accounted for nearly 60% of the national total and have experienced substantial overall decreases in cases and case rates since 1992.
