Pediatric Toolbox

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were 9,557 cases of TB reported in the US in 2015. Of those cases, 440 were in children less than 15 years of age. Literature searches and consultation with pediatric TB specialists have shown that there is a lack of guidelines regarding management of children exposed to or infected with TB, especially children under the age of six months..

In an effort to help combat pediatric TB, this toolkit is designed to provide information on identifying and managing suspected pediatric TB exposures, appropriate infection control and contact investigation procedures surrounding exposures of children of all ages and pearls for diagnosis, management and treatment of childhood TB infection and disease.
